Gold Medal at the Japan Olive Oil Prize

On 12 April 2018 the prizes of the important international JOOP competition, co-organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce, were announced. The oil "Messer Francesco 1640 - Selezione" obtained the gold medal in the BLEND category. Another award that pays off our lasting commitment and passion for extra virgin olive oil. The JOOP is one of the highest level competitions, with 5 certified judges supervised by Dr. P. Arca Food technologist and judge of important competitions such as BIOL and Los Angeles Olive Oil Competition. In 2018, were awarded EVOO from Italy, Spain, Japan, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Turkey and the United States.

When it comes to olive oil, JOOP stands for excellence and fairness guaranteed by an internationally renowned jury. The participating oils are selected according to blind tasting procedures and in full compliance with European regulations.

“In order to ensure a fairer award attribution based on the overall quality of the oils, “JOOP” prize will be awarded by a point-based decimal system between 8,00 (minimum) and 10,00 (maximum). Oils will be competing in the following categories: Organic, Blend, Monocultivar, P.D.O. and P.G.I.”
